A Cake Smash Photo Session is a fun way to celebrate the milestone of your baby’s first birthday. It is a great way to capture your little one’s unique personality in a relaxed and carefree environment. You, your family and baby will treasure these photos forever. Your child is growing fast; let me capture this moment for you to remember.
What to Expect
Before the session, we will discuss your choice of colors. I will work with you to create a custom made experience. I take care of the decorations… all you need to bring is the birthday baby, outfits and the cake. I have some outfits and accessories you can borrow. Contact me for more info on that.
We will begin capturing your child’s expressions while they are calm and clean. Once we bring in the cake, the photo session usually last 20 fun filled minutes, although you baby will decide for us on the timing. Be ready for a mess and for a quick cleanup session afterward. Up to two outfit changes allowed at no additional cost (in same backdrop).
Add-ons
- Add $50 for a weekend session (limited weekend availability).
- Add $80 for twins.
- Add a Family Photo for $150. This will add 4 photos to your final selection.
- Add a Formal Photo of baby in a plain/classic background for $50. This will add 4 photos to your final selection.

But these sessions aren’t just about the photos—they’re about the experience! My clients always tell me how patient and gentle I am, which is so important when working with little ones. I start every session by playing with the baby to help them feel comfortable in my studio. I know that I’m a new person to them and that this space is unfamiliar, so I take my time to make sure they feel safe and happy before we begin.

- Formal Baby Portraits – Sweet, clean images of your baby before the mess!
- Splash Bath – The grand finale and a favorite part for most babies! After the Cake Smash, we end with a warm bath where your little one can splash and play—plus, they leave the studio nice and clean!
I know that not all babies love the cake itself, and that’s okay! That’s why I always start with clean portraits before we bring out the cake, so no matter how your baby reacts, we’ll have plenty of adorable photos to fill the gallery.

Milestone Session
$350 (Baby Only)
Perfect for those first year milestones. These sessions are typically done at 3 months (or when holding head up), 6 months (or when sitting), 9 months (or when crawling), and 12 months (or when standing or walking) and are done in the studio. Most milestone sessions are about an hour, but can be less or more depending on your baby’s needs.
What to Expect
Most sessions are photographed using a classic white backdrop or dark wood for a timeless look. However, I also have a variety of other backdrops available to complement your baby’s outfit. While outfits are typically provided by parents, a small client closet is also available for your convenience
